Such a lovely and cozy restaurant! Even if it was late evening, they welcomed us kindly without a reservation and the kitchen was worth the wait. The dishes were delicious and huge; the kings prawns and mussels were so fresh that you can taste the sea. If you pass by Portree you need to stop here to try the local delicacies. Highly recommended
I had a great dinner with my family here. The mussels, monkfish, smoked salmon, and trout were delicious. All the seafood tasted fresh and top quality. The service was good too. The restaurant is small so I recommend making a reservation to guarantee a spot.
We stumbled across this restaurant on its opening night of the season (April 2025). What a superb place. The fish was so fresh, staff couldn’t do more for you and it was a thoroughly wonderful experience. Our daughter is coeliac and most options were gluten free already but she was well catered for.
We each had the 3-course option. Starters (1 mussels and 1 salmon) were fantastic. The lemongrass ginger coriander broth on the mussels was wonderful. Our mains (scallops and sea trout) were equally great. Special note is the very light (not heavy) black pudding with the scallops. Dessert was good too
One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. 100% recommend. Mussels were delicious. The scallop risotto were perfection. The best sticky toffee pudding I’ve had as well. Just WOW!
Fantastic little seafood restaurant located on Quay st in Portree. Really cosy atmosphere, great food and great staff (especially Zaneta). The scallops with Stornoway black pudding and a pea and mint puree is delicious! Book in advance to guarantee a place,
I feel like it’s the best restaurant at portree and I highly recommend. Both food and service were great First course mussels which is fresh and cooked in simple white wine sauce. Somehow the mussels are very very sweet which I’m guessing they may have added some sweeterner. It’s still quite nice Next has the scallop risotto. The scallops are very tender same like mussels which show they know how long to cook the seafood. For the risotto it’s a bit too mush for my liking. Also it taste like Thai dish which is abit sour in it. Overall it’s not too bad The highlight for me is the toffee pudding. It’s so good that it’s best toffee pudding I had in my life. The cake is warm n moist and so full of flavor. A must order even for non dessert lovers. The service crew is also great and I feel so warm from their service.
Quite good. Tasty food and excellent service. Even though they seemed understaffed, but staffs remained friendly. However, we ordered the seafood platter which the platter consisted of 70% mussels so I felt that it would have been nicer to have diversity. But overall, really good restaurant
